Calculate BMI Accurately With Our Free BMI Calculator

Today we’ll show you how easy it is to calculate BMI accurately with our new body mass index calculator tool. We have made this mens BMI Calculator to help our readers get an overview of their weight levels and reach their goals.

What is BMI?

Body mass index, or BMI, is a quick and inexpensive measurement of your body fat concerning weight and height. It measures a person’s leanness or corpulence based on height and weight and is intended to quantify tissue mass.

Remember that even if two people have the same BMI, their body fat percentages may differ. This is because a high BMI can indicate high levels of body fat and lean body mass, which is composed of muscle and bone.

Although BMI has existed for over 200 years, it wasn’t until recently that people started using it to measure health and assess health risks.

How to calculate BMI

Calculating BMI in metric values is relatively easy – divide your weight by the square of your height.

weight ÷ (height)2 = BMI

For the imperial unit results, do the same and multiply it by a conversion factor of 703.

[weight ÷ (height)2] x 703 = BMI

Weight status categories are as follows:

  • Underweight – below 18.5
  • Healthy – 18.5 – 24.9
  • Overweight – 25.0 – 29.9
  • Obesity – 30.0 and above

We have made this calculator so you can avoid the math. Instead, use it to indicate whether you have a healthy body weight for your height. We offer Metric and Imperial units so any man worldwide can easily use them.

Please take note that our BMI calculation is only accurate for adults. Our body mass index results are valid for adults between 19 and 65. There is a different set of BMI calculations for people younger or older than that.

BMI calculations don’t consider age, gender, race, and ethnicity, which can also impact your body fat or muscle, so keep these in mind when calculating your BMI. It is not the most accurate measure but the easiest and least expensive one.

Why do you need it

It is crucial to maintain a healthy body. Period. The importance of maintaining good health can’t be stressed enough. It will determine your day-to-day well-being and how you age. It will allow an active and more fulfilled lifestyle, leading to a better quality of life.

“Health problems, even minor ones, can interfere with or overshadow other aspects of your life. How can knowing BMI help

According to Harvard Health Publishing, “in general, the higher your BMI, the higher the risk of developing a range of conditions linked with excess weight, including

  • diabetes
  • arthritis
  • liver disease
  • several types of cancer (such as those of the breast, colon, and prostate)
  • high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • high cholesterol
  • sleep apnea

According to the WHO, nearly three million people die yearly worldwide due to being overweight or obese. In addition, independent of any particular disease, people with high BMIs often report feeling better, both physically and psychologically, once they lose excess weight.”
